Outlook 2003 Archive Question... Any Ideas would be appreciated.

I am using Outlook 2003 on XP Pro w/all the latest service paks.

When I try to archive manually or automatically to my archive.pst file
(specifying to archive any items over 6 months old) none of the items older
than 6 months are removed from my main .pst file AND the archive.pst file
is contains no archived items other than the folder structure from the
original file.
I have tried various archive points 3 months, 12 months, 2 years but I
don't get any results.
Any ideas out there? Thanks!

Archiving works based on an item's Modified date, not its Received date.
Use the Field CHooser to add the Modified date you your view and compare the
dates with your archive criteria.

Thanks Brian, I don't know if you helped kaylix, but you've cleared up
something that's baffled me for ages!

OK, thanks. I'll give it a try, but I'm sure something else is going on as
I have items from 2003/2004 that haven't been touched and they still don't
get archived.
What are some of the esoteric options that could be performed on a mail
file that would mark emails as 'modified' and therefore would not archive
as part of an archiving process?

Hey Brian -

Just a quick FYI, I realize now what is happening. Recently this users mail
file was corrupted because it was in Outlook 2000 format with the 2gb
limit. The process of recovering the file must have set a new modification
date on each item to 1/7/07. Therefore nothing was being archived. It makes
total sense now.

Thanks again for your help!
