Outlook 2003 and Office 2007

I've used Outlook for many years - at home and at work. I'm still using the
2003 version at home. I'm considering moving up to Office 2007.
If I get Office Home and Student 2007 which doesn't have Outlook, can I
still run my old version of Outlook? I don't need any new functionality.
Its a lot of extra money to go up to the Stanard level.

Yes. However, make a business case for the upgrade. It should be more than
just "because it's newer." An up-to-date Office 2000 provides the majority
of the functionality the current Office version has.
I don't need any new functionality.

But you will likely lose some if the versions of Outlook and Office don't
match. If you don't need the additional functionality, you don't have a
good argument for changing.

True. I think it was a cruel move by Microsoft to remove Outlook from the
suite targeting students.
