Things appear to be configured properly, but whenever
Outlook attempt to get to hotmail I get:

Task 'Hotmail - Sending' reported error
(0x800CCC32) : 'Access to the account was denied. Verify
that your username and password are correct. The server
responded 'Authorization Required'. '

What type of 'Authorization' is required?

Tks

Please read the entire note:
The username ande password WORK when accessing HotMail
via IE.
Since "Authorization" is required, there appears to be
something else required ... the question is:

What else is required??

Tks

PS: U/L Case is also NOT an issue ... this was confirmed
via the normal log in through hotmail.com

Well nothing more is required; it should work straight out of the box. Just
follow the Wizard for HTTP and select Hotmail for the server settings. Make
sure SPA is unchecked. Have you tried it already in a separate profile?

Yes, the identical information works fine on a Windows
2000 machine using Outlook XP (2002). But, for some
reason, it doesn't want to work on my XP Pro, Outlook
2003 machine.

I have Office Student Edition installed on my XP Home Dell Inspiron. I have followed the directions exactly and tried to set up a HotMail account in Outlook 2003. As soon as Outlook sends and receives I get a box which asks me to enter my correct username and password. I also get the same error code. Is there a work-around for this problem?

This works sometimes...however it didn't solve my problem.
