Outlook 2003 and ECF

Michael Tissington

I have written an add-in (Exchange Client Extension) that is installed using
an ECF.

The problem is that with Outlook 2003 (RTM) I can not get the add-in to stay
installed after Outlook is restarted.

Any ideas please?

Thanks.

No - that's one I often forget ;)

Each time I start Outlook, if I go through the Tools/Options/Advanced/Add-in
Manager ..... to load the ecf then it works for that instance of Outlook.

But a restart of Outlook and its gone :(

Does it get loaded after you create the refresh registry key? Which contexts
and implemented interfaces do you specify in the ECF file?

Use "1"s only in Exchange Interface Map and Exchange Context Map. Also try
to delete extend.dat before running Outlook.
