outlook 2003 and AOL 9.0 error (0x800CCC0F)

Hi I am using outlook 2003, I can recieve my email from pop3 but can not send
any e-mail out through SMTP here is the error message in fulll:
Task 'mail.interfluix.net - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC0F) : 'The
connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact
your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'
any help would be greatly appreiated
