outlook 2002 SP-1, how to prevent duplicates of same email on rec

Recently when I do send/receive I am getting multiple copies of same email.
How do I prevent this occurring?

Do you get multiple copies of *all* your mail, or just some of it? Do you
get duplicates during a single send/receive, or on successive
send/receives?
