Outlook 2002 does not remember names (auto fill in) when closed.

The automatic name checking and automatic completion of e-mail names is
checked under Advaced E-Mail options. Once an e-mail is sent it remembers
until the program is closed.

search the *.NK2 file and rename it
restart outlook

This is a sign that your mail profile is corrupt. Create a new one in the
Mail applet in Control Panel. You can point it at your existing PST, if you
use one.
