Outlook 2002 contacts in forwarded e-mail

Contacts in messages to be forwarded do not appear as names but as tildes and
question marks. Can that be changed?
 
Might want to include some information when you post a question--things like
what you are trying to do and how, message format, view, etc. We can't read
minds.
