Hello,

I have a number of contacts in Outlook 2002.

Full Name is configured as LastName, FirstName.
File As is configured as LastName, FirstName.
E-mail Display As is configured as LastName, FirstName (e-mail@address).

In the Contacts area of Outlook 2002 they are sorted alphabetically by
LastName, FirstName. But, when I construct a new message by File => New =>
Mail Message and addressing it by clicking on 'To' they're sorted
alphabetically FirstName LastName.

When I amend an existing record that is configured in the 'To' field as
LastName, FirstName it changes to FirstName LastName.

Do you know how I can fix this so that all occurences are LastName,
FirstName please?

Thank you.

Andrew

Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book > Change. > Set your sort order there

Thank You Russ. That's worked.

Russ:

Is there a way to do this for OL 2000?

There are 2 completely different versions of Outlook 2000, so the methods
for each differ.

Corporate/Workgroup mode:
Tools menu > Services > Highlight the Outlook Address Book service > Click
Properties > Set sort order

Internet Mail Only:
Tools menu > Address Book > View menu > Sort by

Thanks, it works. [Oddly, I had set this the same way previously but it did
not work. Now it does. Why worry?]

You have to restart Outlook before you'll see it work.
