why can't I copy and paste an email address?

I'm not sure if this problem is created by the email originator, or by a
feature of Outlook 2007.

Emails that come to me formatted as Lastname, Firstname <[email protected]>
paste as Lastname, Firstname without the email address!

What a pain to handtype the email address (and error-prone, too) into my
Contacts. Pasting into a .doc doen't help, either.

Do I have some obscure preference set?

I guess its best described as a feature. If you need the display name and
address, get it from the header or right click on the name and add it to the
contacts. See http://www.slipstick.com/Tutorials/create/dl.asp if you need
help getting the addresses from the header.

thanks. when I can, I pull it from the header. usually that requires opening
the email, clicking "Reply" or "Forward", and then lifting the email address
from the header. Still way too many steps. Some "feature"!

I appreciate your reply, Diane, thanks.
