Outlook 2002 and XP Pro

2 new computer running Win XP Pro with Office 2002. Setup
Outlook 2002 with ISP settings. If I go to tools and e-
mail accounts than test the account all is fine. When I
send/receive, we receive but the send times out.

If I go to the web and mail account it will send/receive.

Also send/receive work fine in Outlook Express.

I had a simular problem with Outlook. Turned out that I
had a typo in the E-mail or Reply address in the Internet
Mail settings. This caused the same symptoms as you have
stated. I could recieve mail but not send mail.

I've talked with the ISP and recreated the account. We've
tried to set the SMTP to authenticate to the server and
that didn't work.
