Outlook 2000 Wigging Out - Again!

My Outlook 2000 is not responding. Again.
It won't connect to the server to "send/receive" emails from my ISP
(Bellsouth.net).
It won't let me return to the "Inbox" once I go to "Contacts."
It won't let me return to the "Inbox" if I go to any of the folders in Inbox.

When I try to close everything, the screen goes to white.

When I hit "control/alt/delete," the window displays "Outlook ... not
responding."
Finally "control/alt/delete" closes Outlook.

Outlook worked fine yesterday.
I turned everything off last night.
This morning I turned on my computer and Outlook is wigging out.

I turned off the computer.
Let it "rest" for 30 minutes.
Turned computer on again.
Same problem.

This is not the first time this has happened.

What can I do?
Thanks.

WHAT is a "PST" file? and WHERE can I find it? (I've already surfed my files
and no "PST.")

I have a "Prefetch" folder which has tons of .exe files (about which I know
NOTHING), but no PST file!

Thanks.

I've found a PST folder.
It has a 774 MB file in it which I can't open.
It was created Jan. 8, '07 which is the day I installed my DSL service
(finally).

I had huge trouble getting Outlook to work with the new DSL service. Spent 8
hours on phone with DSL tech people. Finally gave up, turned off computer,
went to be. Next morning, turned on computer, everything worked good enough
to use.

It never worked very well (extremely slow and other quirks), but I could use
it.
Now Outlook is having same problem I had trying to get it to work with the
DSL service ... won't connect to server to send/receive emails ...

Also, in last hour, accessing email at ISP site has become challenging.
Extremely, extremely slow.

What do I do with a PST file?
Thanks.

The PST file is your Personal Folders file. But your Outlook problem
seems not to originate from the PST file, but with your Internet
connection. I think you should talk with your ISP support to get that
connection fixed. (Usually they have setup instructions on their support
web site.)
