Outlook 2000 takes forever to start

K

Keith Vickery

I have checked the knowledge base an can only find a
reference to a dial upTCP/IP problem.

Often when I start up (press the icon on the tool bar, or
start the application from programs) Outlook 2000 it takes
possibly 60 to 180 seconds or more before the applications
is present on the screen.

The system seems to have a lot of hard drive activity
during this period. I can do this after a fresh boot with
no other applications open. I have loaded all service
packs and updates (I think), I am running Norton.

Can anyone help with any suggestions.

Does Outlook start in safe mode quickly? (Start | Run | Type: outlook.exe
/safe | OK button) If the answer is yes, try renaming/deleting outcmd.dat
while outlook is closed.)
