Outlook 2000 Outbox

Like an idiot, I tried to send a large movie file (180MB) by e-mail to
several recipients. Believe me, I know better. Anyhow, when I start
Outlook, the MAPI Spooler starts sending the file that eventually won't go.
I cannot hit the delete button fast enough before MAPISP32.exe starts. This
procedure blocks all Outlook functions since the CPU runs at 100%. How do I
delete the file and the attachment without opening Outlook? I have
considered deleting the .pst file but that's like throwing out the baby with
the bath water.

Click File and check Work Offline. Stop and restart Outlook. Delete the
message. Click File and uncheck Work Offline.

Thanks Brian, but there isn't an option for "work offline" under the "File"
header

Thanks Brian. That looks promising. I'm going to switch from "Business and
Personal" to "Internet e-mail" first to see if your message about "offline"
works. If it doesn't, I will try this method. Either way, I'll let you know
if it worked. Thanks again.

Hi Brian,
Well, the message is still stuck in the Outbox but when I made the switch to
"internet e-mail", the "Work Offline" option appeared. When I closed and
opened Outlook after selecting it, the 189 messages started coming in and I
can send e-mails also. But the large message is still in the Outbox and I
can't delete it because a message comes that says "MAPI Spooler has already
started sending the message" (Even though it isn't). Any suggestions?

Hi Brian,
Problem solved. When I selected "Work Offline", closed and opened Outlook
and hit delete, the file deleted.
Thanks again for your help.
