Outlook 2000 Not Responding

Mike

Whenever I try and open Outlook 2000, the program freezes and the autoplay
window keeps popping up repeatedly until I select the "End Now" option to
close Outlook 2000. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Is this a new fault?
What size is the Outlook data file, the *.pst? (search to include hidden)

This is a new though related topic. I can't start a new thread to save my
soul.

After a messy reinstall of WIN2000, I'm reinstalling Office2000 and have one
annoyance and one critical failure: 1) Every time I start Word (but none of
the other appls) I get a windows screen about preparing to install and
configuring before Word starts. Anybody know why? How can I stop this?

2) I reinstalled Outlook with some aggrevation following the bouncing ball
on the various screens. I succeeded in part and tried to set up my
connection. One of those screens asked if I wanted internet mail only, or
with a bunch of MS stuff (like Exchange). I chose Internet only; It
returned an ominous screen (I assumed it was mad at me for a preceived
insult, though I never use those supplemental appls), said if I continue,
Outlook would be shut down but can be immediately restarted to continue.
(Seemed odd, but what do I know...) It did shut down but now can never be
restarted. I get an "Operation failed" message -- no and ifs or buts. I
tried Repair and then Repair-Reinstall from the CD. No effect. Any ideas?
My next step is to unstall Office (though I assume it takes all of Office)
then Install new.
