Fountain of knowledge

Hi,

Windows 2000 with Outlook 2000. From Control Panel i cannot open the
Mail icon, i double click but nothing happens. If i go to Tools -->
Accounts from Outlook 2000 nothing happens either.
In the About window from the help menu it says "No Email" but I have
set Outlook for "Internet Mail Only"

Any ideas what is wrong? I have seen a couple of posts with similar
problems but none of them had an answer.

TIA

Hi,

Do you have a tab called Mail Delivery or Mail Setup under Tools --
Options ???

If so Click on that tab and then click on Reconfigure Mail Support and
then Select the Internet Mail Only Mode.

Hope this helps !!!

Thanks for the reply. Choosing that option just invokes the Mail
applet from control panel.

A dirty fix is the re-install of Office 2000 but also to remove all
profiles from the machine and delete all the roaming profiles for the
affected user.

All because the file "c:\program files\common
files\system\mapi\1033\nt\mlcfg32.cpl" (or another file, but in this
folder) is messed up or corrupt or something.

hope this helps. Of course, if anyone else has a solution, please
post it!
