I am running XP SP2 with Outlook 2000. When I start Outlook, the startup
screen for outlook shows up, but never actually starts. The When I
CTRL-ALT-DEL and view CPU usage, Outlook.exe is 94-99%. When I close the
application, it does NOT say "Program not responding"... any help appreciated

With Outlook closed, try deleting or renaming the file
%AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook\outcmd.dat.

Brian,

I have a similar problem to the person below. I'm using Outlook 2000 with
XP. I am amble to open Outlook but when I click on "Send/Receive" email it
indicates new incoming messages then it crashes.

I have installed all the needed service packs for Office and Outlook, and
have tried deleting the .srs file in %AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook, but that
has not helped. Any ideas?

Have you used Help>Detect and Repair? Have you tried a new mail profile?
