Outlook 2000 keeps crashing, not sure if caused by auto update?

Outlook 2000 was working just fine. Recently it crashed. None of the MS
solutions worked to repair registry so I was forced to reload windows XP Pro
again. Worked fine for a while. I have just finished all of the updates
from Office and Windows(security and others) and now upon trying to open
outlook, it immediately crashes. Has anyone had this problem or know of a
solution, other than not usint outlook? Thanks.

Try scanning your *.pst file(s) with the inbox repair tool (scanpst.exe).
If you still get the crash after that point, try starting Outlook with the
/nopreview command line switch. This will ensure that Outlook can't show
the first item in the preview pane (assuming you use it) and figure out if
it is truly the application or just a corrupted item.
