I have just upgraded from outlook express to outlook 2000. The problem I'm having is that I cannot get by accounts to send and receive. I am able to connect to the internet via my dial up connection and surf the web, but the email send and receive will not work. An error message is displayed 'The server could not be found. (Account: ' Sympatico', POP3 Server: 'pop1.ns.sympatico.ca', Error Number 0x800ccc0d). I have checked with Sympatico and the settings are correct on my account. Any help would be appreciated.

If your setting have been verified. Try removing the
account, restart Outlook, and enter the account
information again. It sounds like the Outlook account
settings may be corrupted.

Andy,

Looking on the website the Incoming server (POP) is not
pop1.ns.sympatico.ca its:

pop1.sympatico.ca, remove the ns and see if that makes a difference.

Well, pop1.ns.sympatico.ca is an alias of pop9.sympatico.ca:

$ nslookup pop1.ns.sympatico.ca

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: pop9.SYMPATICO.CA
Address: 206.47.199.40
Aliases: POP1.NS.SYMPATICO.CA

So, the pop1 address may be legal, but your suggestion has merit.
