outlook 2000 is freezing up

Today my Outlook 2000 has starting freezing, I can open it and do things for
about 30 seconds, doesnt matter what I do it will always freeze up, what
could be the cause and what can I do to fix the problem?

Try running it in safe mode (Run -> outlook /safe), and see if it still
happens. If yes, please give us more details, e.g. the account type(s)
you use (POP/SMTP, IMAP, Exchange Server). Do you have a PST file that
is approaching 2GB in size?

my *pst file is 4,784kb and yes I have tried doing a repair with the cd, and also running is safe mode but it still freezes up

I use a pop3 server, and in safe mode still does the same thing

Is the "freezing" permanent, or will it go back to normal after a few
minutes?

Can you try to run a scanpst against your PST file, then try again?
Make sure that Outlook is completely closed, then take a backup of the
PST file before running scanpst.
