Outlook 2000: Have to end Process to close

Has anyone ever come across where, after you close Outlook, you have to go
into the Task Manager, and end the process for outlook.exe to actually close
the program?

Myself and my boss are having the same problem. We check our mail remotely
via a webmail interface provided by our ISP sometimes, and if we don't end
the process in the Task Manager on our computer at work, Outlook still
rceives messages.

A list of known causes is at http://www.slipstick.com/problems/close.htm -
you'll also find a link to Knockout which will make it easier to see if
outlook is running.

Mine too. However, I tried to install Outlook97 and Outlook2000 onto another
two separate computers without any add-ons, yet they both cannot shutdown.
This happens after I've installed Outlook 2003 onto another separate computer.

I followed the link from Diane Poremsky to the slapstick site and ran Outlook
/cleanfreebusy from the command line and it worked from my Outlook2000 PC.
