outlook 2000 hangs when exiting

I am running Outlook 2000 on a XP pro computer that is patched. There
is no pda thus no sync issue. The only way to close outlook is by end
tasking it. I have run detect and repair. I have reinstalled Outlook
and without resolotion of my problem. I use network version of Sophos
for anti virus.Others with identical computers and software have no
problem exiting Outlook I have been reading for hours the various
posts and solutions offered such as using switches to start and end
outlook but the problem continues. Any suggestion would be appreciated.
