We are migrating from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000. Our
servers are in different domains, 5.5 (domain1), 2000
(domain2). Most of our users were migrated to domain2.
However, our users in domain3, which is an NT4 domain that
is not being migrated cannot use Outlook 2000 to access
their mailboxes (which were migrated). Outlook 97, XP,
and 2003 all work fine. If they try to use Outlook 2002,
they get a login screen asking for user name, password and
domain. I have tried several accounts, I have Outlook
2000 service pack 3 and all patches. This happens on two
different machines. I did have to run the AD cleanup
wizard on these accounts to merge their user ids in
domain2, they are logging in to domain3 to access their
mailboxes in domain2. The domain3 accounts have been
given rights to the mailboxes. We asked a consultant and
they think it is a MS Outlook 2000 bug, anyone heard of
this before?
