Outlook 2000 - attachments under subject

A

aryasnow

It used to be that when I created a message and attached a file to it,
the attachments would show up in a little box, neatly labeled
"attachments" right underneath the subject line. But after the recent
Timezone updates, my attachments now show up as icons in the message
itself, both to me, and to the people I send them to.

Is there a way I can change this back to how it was before?

Outlook 2000
Win 2000
both are fully patched according to microsoft's site.

The patch has nothing to do this. Change your message format from Rich Text
to HTML or Plain Text.

The messages are set, by default, to be HTML. Confirmed through an
independant message as well. Changing from HTML to plain text doesn't
help. As you advised to change away from .rtf, I did not check that.

Plain Text and HTML cannot display attachments in-line as an icon since the
format simply doesn't support that. Create a new message verify the message
format to be Plain Text and then insert an attachment.

I've done that, And the attachment shows up underneath a horizontal
line at the bottom of the message. When I send the message, the
attachments appear that way to whomever I send them to as well -
underneath that horizontal line at the bottom. If the message is in
RTF or HTML, I can embed the attachment in the message itself, which
also gets sent to users that way.

I must admit to being a little confused as to why it would change from
displaying in a line under the subject to displaying seperately from
the message itself, but below it.

Try changing the email editor from Word to Outlook or vice versa depending
on what is selected now.
