Outlook 2000: Adding "(E-Mail)" to e-mail address in the "To" fiel

Is it possible to avoid that Outlook add the text: "(E-Mail)" to all e-mail
addresses in the "To" field? I.e. when f. ex. I press the name John Doe in
my contacts, the name pop up in the "To" field as John Doe (E-Mail). It's not
a big deal, but anyway.
It's quite obvious that it's an e-mail adress and therefore it's not needed.
I could not find anything in the forum about this. Thank you for your help!
 
Thank you very much to Russ Valentine! It solved the problem completely. I
saved a back-up of the contab32.dll, just in case, but it was not needed - .
