outlook 07 out of office assistance stop working after 1-2 days

We are using outlook 2007 (Vista/windows 2003 server) with exchange 2003/SP2.
Some users reported after they enabled out of office assistance, it stops
working after one or two days. Any suggestion?
 
Are they testing it by sending messages to themselves? Then it is normal
because the OOF only sends a message once per sender until it it is toggled
off and on again.
 
No, we tested from different user accounts after one or two days. OOF is
still enabled, but message is gone; and it will not send OOF message any
more.
 
And Outlook hasn't been opened in between and no admin is using an OOF tool
or something to that effect?
Then it is better to troubleshoot this in an Exchange newsgroup as Outlook
is not involved in actually sending out the OOF. This all happens server
side.

You mean the message body of the OOF or the message that is received which
should trigger an OOF reply?
