Outllok 2003 and Terminal Services - user settings will not stick

T

TonyB

I have installed Office 2003 on our terminal servers (under console logon) -
we access the servers via RDP.

If I log in and change the reading pane or add archive files or any user
configuration, it stays while the session is open but as soon as you log off
and back in again Outlook re-sets itself.

If I use the administration account that I installed the software with, the
settings do stick.

Has anyone come across this before or is aware of a solution ?

Hope you can assist

Tony

Are you using Roaming Profiles?
When you log off, are the settings successfully written back to the server?
Are you using only one TS or multiple? If multiple; are users always
directed to the same TS?

-- Yes to roaming profiles
Settings seem to be succesfully written back (no errors)
We have two TS - both have the same issue and users are directed to the same
TS all the time.

Where did you look for errors?
Does the ntuser.dat file update correctly to the server where you write back
the roaming profile and does it get loaded correctly too? Check the time
stamp on the file.
