I have a laptop with Vista. I am using Outlook 2007 for some email accounts
and Thunderbird v2.0.0.6 for some email accounts. I use teh laptop at work
and at home. Is there some way to set the outgoing server so that it will
switch automatically based on which wireless network (work or home) that I am
connected to. I can receive but not send email without changing the outgoing
server setting each time I travelto the other location.

There is no way that I am aware of to set the smtp server to change automatically.

What you can do is set up 2 different accounts and each account setup could reflect the 2 different (smtp)servers.

Thanks Peter.

I thought that this would be common feature since laptops and other portable
divices are so popular. I seems to me that since the computer can recognize
my home network and my work network it should be able to use the appropriate
outgoing server. Maybe the software engineers don't actually use thier
computers very much.

So, if I set up two accounts can I land the mail in the same folders? or do
I need to have two separate account folders?
Mike

Thanks William.
Is 2 "profiles" the same as 2 "accounts"? can two profiles use the same
folders (i.e. inbox)?
