Do you have a paid Hotmail account? Free Hotmail accounts based in
the US won't get POP access until some time next month. In the meantime,
you can use Windows Live Mail with a Hotmail/Live account:

1. Do you have access to the POP servers? The free Hotmail accounts in the
US don't yet, so you'll need to have a paid Plus account.. or wait until
next month.
