Outbox Phantom

R

RW

Outlook seems to think that there is a message in the
outbox that it continues to try to send but never
finishes. If I open the outbox, it tells me that there
are no messages to display. If I try to send a message,
it goes in the queue behind the phantom until I close and
reopen Outlook Then it goes first followed by the attempt
to send the phantom.

What pointer is hosed and how do I correct it?

Try changing your view. It might be said to only display unread items.

I have figured out what caused the original problem. If
you open a message in the Outbox to amend it and then hit
Send, the message dissappears but the counter is
incremented. I now have two phantom messages. The view
option has no effect.

Changing the view will make the message visible again.
