outbox not sending large email message stuck

I tried to send an email with a .pdf attachment (large). Outlook has been
sending it for 2 days. I can't open it because Outlook tells me it has
already started sending it and I can't delete it. It seems to be "stuck".
Is there a way to stop it sending, delete it, or some other fix so I can
send and receive other emails?

The quick and dirty solution I've given customers is to disconnect from the
network/internet first, then open Outlook. Since it won't be able to
connect to your mail server (I'm guessing you're not connecting to an
Exchange server or this shouldn't be an issue) then it can't start the
outbound transfer of the message, allowing you to delete it.

The other option is to go to the Mail Setup tab (Tools -> Options -> Mail
Setup) and uncheck the "Send immediately when connected" box, then close
Outlook and re-open it.
