out of office reply outside of LAN

Is it possible to send out of office reply's to people
outside of a lan? Would they recieve it.

If it is possible where would i go to see the proper
configuration for that?
 
Yes it is - you need to configure your Exchange to allow
out of office replies. View KBA 262352 for info regarding
this.
