I have Outlook 2000 and there is (to the best of my knowledge) no "out of
office option".

However, I have succeeded in letting the "Rules Wizard" produce an answer
and send it! - so long so good!

But when I put my outlook to check mail for example every 10 minutes - it
works as long as I am active by the computer. As soon as I leave the computer
after 1 hour (I don't know exactly how long time) the Outlook stops checking
mails automatically - and consequently no "auto answers" are sent. It seems
that the computer goes to a "sleeping mode"! As soon as I start working on
the computer again - the "auto answers" are procued - and being sent!

Can anybody give me a tip / explanation - so I can leave the computer for
2-3 days?

Best regards

The Out of Office option is only available when connected to an Exchange
server.
When you're computer is "sleeping" it won't be able to respond indeed. Check
your computer's Power Settings to make sure it continues to run.

You might also want to login to your web based mailbox provided by your ISP
and see if they have an Out of Office feature there. In that case you can
turn your computer of completely.
