Out of office filtering?

L

Linn Kubler

Hi,

We are using Outlook 2003 with an Exchange backend. One of my user's is
having trouble with the out of office replies. He sets it as you expect but
it doesn't seem to work. Messages sent to him, after he turns on the
auto-reply, do not get his message bounced back.

Any suggestions? To the best of my knowledge everyone else is working just
fine.

Thanks in advance,
Linn

Is it failing for all users or just those outside the Exchange environment?
Exchange disables automatic replies to the Internet by default, so if it's
only outside users not getting the Out of Office reply, the Exchange admin
needs to enable the auto replies to the Internet feature.

It is failing for all types of messages, internal and external. As I
mentioned, this is the only user on my network having this trouble. Where
do I enable the auto replies to the Internet?

Thanks,
Linn

Thanks for the link Jocelyn. That's interesting, it is not turned on, I
wonder if my management knows this feature is not working or outside
contacts? So that explains part of the problem but what about internal
messages. The out of office reply works for everyone else but not for him.
Any ideas what might be causing that?

Thanks,
Linn

He can look for other rules he might have set up that could interfere with
the Out of Office rule...
