Out of office not working on external emails

HI

I have a exchange server 2000 running on Win 2000 server. MOst of clients
have Office xp and some office 2003 and 2000. My out of office assistant is
acting strange. out of office is not sending an auto reply from it receives
emails from out side the company. It is sending reply only to emails coming
within the exchange server.

Kindly help me.

Automatic replies to the internet are disabled by default in Exchange
2000...have you checked that setting?
