out of office asst does not reply

Hey everyone,
I have an exchange 2003 setup with an outlook profile
onit. Tried to turn on "Out of office assitant" and type
a reply message. No rules are applied. Made it as simple
as possible. The auto reply does not respond. I checked
off the Microsoft Word 2003 and and any other editor but
the plain editor. What am I missing. Many thanks for you
answers.

Are you sending it internally or externally? By secure default Exchange
doesn't allow automatic forwarding/replying to the Internet
