Out Of Office Assistant Problems

Hi folks! Hoping some of you might have some ideas about how to get this
working.

We've got two Exchange2003 servers going. One being for staff within the
company, one that we run for a bunch of client companies.

On the client side, they are all running Outlook 2003. When a user turns on
their OOoA, sets their message, etc, the system does not generate
auto-responses as mail comes in. I've logged in as the user both in Outlook
and Outlook Web Access and verified that, yes, OOoA *IS* indeed turned on.

Following some of the advice given in other "Out Of Office Assistant" grief
threads, I've checked the "allow auto replies" and "out of office replies"
settings in System Manager, and they were off, so I checked them ON, applied,
closed ESM, and tried again. Still nothing.

Just as a test, I decided to set my own OOoA on our staff exchange server.
It doesn't work for me, either. Checked those ESM settings, and they were
off, so I turned em on, tried again. Still nothing.

So, there would appear to be some configuration setting I'm ignorant of,
that's misconfigured on BOTH exchange servers...

Any suggestions?

You usually have to stop and restart the Internet Mail Service for those
settings to take effect

Hi Hal. Thanks for the tip. So, I was unable to find an Internet Mail
Services properties object anywhere in the Exchange System Manager console,
nor did I see one running under Services. So, I just rebooted the server.
OOoA still doesn't seem to be working, however.

Any other suggestions?
