out going mail

Somehow one of my kids changed something in outlook and
now we cannot send or recieve mail. Something to do with
pop.sympatico and smtl. Can someone help me fix this?
 
Insufficient info. eg Version of OL, exact err.msg
For as start check yr ISP, sympatico?, web site for email setup help.
