Other Series in Excel Pie Chart

How do you get an "Other" series in a pie chart? I have data that I'd
like to show in a pie chart where it shows the top 8 categories of
data then groups all the small percentage data points into an "other"
wedge within the chart.

How is that done with Excel 2002?

You could add a column to the list, in which you calculate a label for
the row. Then, use a pivot chart to group the categories.

For example, with headings in cells A1:B1, and data in A2:B50 --
Insert a column between A and B
In cell B1, type the heading: Group
In cell B2, type: =IF(C2>=LARGE($C$2:$C$18,5),A2,"Other")
Copy the formula down to the last row of data
Select a cell in the list, and choose Data>PivotTable and PivotChart report
Select PivotChart report, click Next, click Next
In step 3, click the Layout button
Drag the Category button to the Row area, and the Amount button to the
Data area
Click OK, click Finish
With the Chart sheet active, choose Chart>Chart Type
Select the Pie Chart type, and one of the subtypes, click OK
Choose Chart>Chart Options, and select the options for your chart
