Does anyone else wonder why taskbar buttons cannot be clicked and
dragged to another location on the taskbar? In Windows 7? Or maybe
by 2025...

You're doing it wrong. No problem here.

I don't know exactly what you want to do,

Maybe I should of said "program buttons".

In Windows XP, the "taskbar" is a bar that usually goes across the
bottom of the screen. The "system tray" is usually to the right
of the "taskbar" where the "clock" is :D

You can click on a program button to minimize or restore a window,
or right click to close a window.

A program button is about the same thing as a tab. Click-and-drag
arrangement of tabs is a basic feature of most other software,
even free software.

I guess Windows 7 is better, maybe someday I will get there.
