Hello,
Sorry, this is an off-topic question
I just run out of access to the usenet where I need
it right now. Here is my last resort. Could anyone suggest a place I can
register for a free UNIX Shell a/c and also servers for USEnet
access..Thanks
Have a nice day

This is a post from a few days ago. I use eternal-september.org
for a primary USENET server, and aioe.org for backup. Both are
free, the first requires registering for an account, while the
second does not. To reach posters in the microsoft.public groups,
who are using the web interface at Microsoft, I use aioe.org for
that. E-S doesn't seem to get through there.

Also, Albasani.net which I use.

Access is also available at Usnet4al.se. Reasonable and they block
all access from Google, wholesale.

The available free servers are pretty much all text-only groups. If
you want to need binaries you will likely have to seek a paid service
such as NewsGuy, GigaNews, etc.

Individual.Net is another good souce and runs a few Euros (about $16
USD) annually.

TeraNews has a "free" option that requires a one-time registration fee
of $3.99 USD. The free access has a bandwidth cap.

All of the aforementioned free servers will require a user
registration and it may be a day or two before you get a response
which actually comes from a live person.

I maintain moderated Usenet group and recently had to request
moderator access for FAQ posting at Albasani and they responded with
an Ok and programmed me in within less than 24 hrs.

Nice people.
