Yes, I've noticed the "missing part of the recipe syndrome" on more than one occasion.
Like grandma's meatball recipe that never comes out correctly unless she's there to throw in the secret ingredient.
I can't tell ya how many times I've explored new tech stuff...ok installs correctly...then uhmmmm where are the rest of the pages to how to connect it and make it work...oh sorry we musta left out those 4 chapters. And open source aint always open source if there's no explanation now is it? More like...partially open source.
| Yeah, but there is no actual page named index.do - Trust me, I'm with the
| Government, and I'm here to help - No, not really.
|
| If you are really interested, and follow the links I provided, it should be
| become as clear as mud :>).
|
| As I said, the assumption in these type of sites is that you already know
| everything. The only reason I have have a grasp is because of the tried and
| true method of screwing it up enough times before it actually works. That
| and having an ubernerd at my disposal :>).
|
| Typical Open Sores stuff - you are either a genius or an idiot until you
| unwind the convoluted mess that masks the underlying simplicity of the
| architecture - And then you're probably still an idiot. I don't know why it
| is, but every Open Sores application I've had to deal with has been a royal
| PIA.

| Thanks for all your responses...I'll have to investigate this at some later

| | | Uh, yeah, I know that. I'm 100% sure that is not the case in this
| instance.
| |
| | The "do" extension is a somewhat standard extension, used in the Java /
| | Struts MVC arhitecture, and defined in a config file that points to a
| | handler for the action taken by the user. The web pages don't actually
| have
| | a "do" extension.
| |
| | Have you done any Java / Struts MVC research?

| | I realy like MS products and technologies, but realistically, they are not
| | the only game in town, so being a one-trick-pony isn't the shrewdest
| | strategy towards ensuring a broad competency in web related technologies.
