Anna

hi all,

I downloaded the VPC virtual pc from MS web site. I believe MS has bought it
recenlty. And have heard MS releases its own Virtual PC soon.

In my pc i have XP, 98 and Linux Mandrak all along together.

if i install VPC or any Virtual pc can i access these already installed
OSs??? or Do i need to re-install them ???

has anyone used any virtual pc for xp before?
any experience, comment will be appreciated ...

regards

You have to reinstall them. Through VPC you can create ..uh...virtual PCs
that you boot with a CD, for instance, and install your OS which is stored
in an image on you HD. Later, when you want to run the OS you start VPC and
"boot" your OS through it.

Its very simple and works great - especially for people like me who need to
test apps on several operating systems.

Anna,
You might want to provide a link to what you're talking about. I'm
sure that you'd get more responses to your post.

You can access the OS that is booted and running from the OS that you
have installed on/in VPC and work between the 2 OS's. You can't
miraculously work with any unbooted OS's even though they reside on your
hard drive.

I used it years ago on my macs and it works very well (a little slow)but
I'd love to try it on the new generation of faster macs, or ...on the new
generation of x86 processors, I'll bet it is much more responsive.

What is amazing about this software is that it picks up networks so well
running as an emulator.
