OT: Time Part Names

Quick off-topic question that I would like the answer too....

When formatting time, there are multiple parts:

12(hour):30(minute):45(second):33(ms) am (???)

What is the "proper" term for the AM/PM designator? Is there one?

The .NET docs use the one you used above.

If it is good enough for MS then it should be good enough for you.

library shows but it doesn't look all that great as a name of a variable in
