OT: Skype any different than Yahoo Messenger?

Multiple consternations with Yahoo; delays, chipmunks, dropouts, taking
over sound card, ad infinitum.......... Cable and DSL are the connections.

Know nothing about Skype, but would like to try if group has any
positives to pass on. Or reasons not to try it also appreciated.

you know it is off-topic?

Go do a Google search for reviews and comparisons! At least indicate
you've TRIED to find some answers yourself!

Oh; I suppose becasue home builders tend to be pretty aware of what works
and what doesn't, and because since we are building them ourselves; we know
what programs WE want in the box.
