Hi

A client of ours have a delivery business. They would like to print
triplicates of delivery sheets. One for client, one for operations and third
for accounts. They are looking for a system to print all three in one go
kinda like old dot matrix systems with triplicate stationery. What is a good
recommendation for such a printer these days?

Thanks

Regards

I have a client that uses an Okidata printer. He really likes it and it is
saving him $$. He now buys blank continous two-part forms, instead of laser
printer pre-printed forms.

The Access reports work just fine.

There are still a number of dot-matrix printers around. They are expensive
to very expensive and most of them eat ribbons the way most people eat
popcorn.
Note also that a lot of Okidata users still run using their escape codes and
the exiasting program will have to be modified.
If you are switching to Access that will not be a problem but you may have
to fiddle a lot and send escape cldes before you actually start printing.

The best solution in this day when computers are common is to print out a
copy for the clinet and use the computer to store the records or print them
out in a form better suited for different departments.

This is probably going to require a high priced expert to tell them this.
I installed a system in 97 for a local office and told them that two part
forms and maintaining the old card system was not needed and was costing a
lot in labor and materials.

Earlier this year the county stopped by, looked at the operation and
mandated what I had suggested 7 years ago.

Hi Mike

Thanks for that. The problem we have is the need to have client signatures
on all three copies and simple solution seems to be to have a multi-part
stationery and get it signed once by the client. Of course we are aiming to
get PDAs to get the client signatures in future but that is some way off.

Regards
