OT .Mix files

Hi Folks,

A little off topic..but maybe not really. I have just spent about 2 hours
Googling to try and find a way to either open or convert .mix files I have
tried every trick I can think of with no joy. I understand that they were
either created with Photo Draw or Picture It (I have a very old version of
this..but it won't work)

Does anyone know of a viewer, converter, or something that files with a .mix
extension can be opened?

Thanks!

They are from Picture It! You'll need Picture It! to open them. Talk to a
friend who has a new PC. I think you'll find that most ready-bought systems
have Picture It! If they did a custom config (as in Gateway or Dell), they
may have opted for Office instead of the home applications.

MIX is also the file format for PhotoDraw

If you have problems opening it, let me know and I can open it for you and shoot it back to you as a jpeg

Hi JDR,

That is a generous offer and I appreciate it!! What the pictures are..are 7
gift basket pictures. I can "see" them in Windows Explorer but nothing I
have will open them. I created a page with a link to a zip file that
contains them. If you or anyone else could help I would be very grateful! (I
have emailed the person that sent them to me asking them to please send as
jpg as well)

Here's the page:

Have you tried opening them with IrfanView?
It will open just about anything and convert it.

Hi JDR,

A BIG THANK YOU! I really very much appreciate that you would take the time
out to do that for me!

One thing that we all have in common in this is our love of FrontPage..but
way above and beyond that is the willingness of people to help others out
when needed.

Kudos to you JDR!!

"Usually" with IrfanView, but not always, you can use File > Open and browse
to a file and select it and IrfanView will ask if you want it to open files
of this type.

Worth a shot anyway.

Ever use it to play video files ( avi , mpg )?? It will do it.

You're right, just tried it an no luck with IrfanView. However, I just
double clicked one of the files and it opened in Picture it, and displayed
the "objects"
