OT: Microsoft Answers

That worked; thanks for the tip.

Still, it's confusing. What exactly is the difference between an answer
and a reply?

Thanks for the "answer." ;-)

Still, it's confusing and unnecessatily repetitious. I would rather see
the Correct Answer marked with a big "A" or "C" or something like that
rather than having all the correct responses repeated. I wonder why MS
thought this was a good way to do things. Also there could be a
hyperlink that shows either all the responses or only the correct ones.
But having them repeat is just plain weird IMO.

Short answer: Either the OP marks a reply as an/the Answer (not always
appropriately) or a Moderator does so if the OP never returns to the
thread.
That worked; thanks for the tip.

Still, it's confusing. What exactly is the difference between an
answer and a reply?

Okay, Microsoft wants its customers to *evolve* and stop using
Usenet for support.

But please answer this. When looking at a page like this:

http://social.answers.microsoft.com...s/thread/00bb341d-be61-4397-8496-412cba39c9dc

Why are all the responses listed twice, first as "Answers," then as
"All replies"?
