is there anyway that you or any of the other MVPs can feed back to MS that
so called "MS Support Engineers" are posting DUFF information on the MS
Answers forum?

I draw your attention to this thread
http://social.answers.microsoft.com...d/thread/f274683d-85c5-4c21-9d88-a890016f2264

where the MS "support" engineer is telling the OP to import a pst file......
This is not a one-ff occurrence, and not just on the Outlook forums
either...

It wouldn't surprise me if someone responds to that thread. The "official"
policy of Microsoft support has been to use import/export. It has been the
experience of people who have tried that aproach that it causes problems more
often than not.

Assuming that you are the "GordonBP" in the Answers forum (which I base on the
tone of the responses), it looks like you have responded already.

I am and I have :)
I am just getting a bit frustrated by some of the "support engineers"
less-than-correct responses on a number of boards...

So how did you get so many badges? Have you been posting in Answers for a
while?

We've never had any contact with PSS, nor have they ever listened to us.
They seem to be of the opinion that if something ever worked once for
anyone, it's still good. Export/import did work in earlier versions and in
select circumstances, so they think it still works. It's only become
problematic since Outlook 2003 as a method for transferring data between PST
files. Microsoft tends not to acknowledge those problems for which it has no
solutions. At least the brakes work and the accelerators aren't sticking.
