I believe Mozilla uses Gmane to host newsgroups. You might not find
them on a mainstream vanilla nntp server (like your ISP's), but you
can always create a separate nntp server profile in your newsreader
(or use Gmane's web front).
Looks like another possibility.
On my server, currently (alt.fan.mozilla) looks like a larger group.
I'm enjoying Firefox so far. The most annoying long-term issue about
Internet Explorer was when using my scripts to toggle fonts/colors and
Flash Player ON/OFF, the program IE would pause for several seconds
when returning from the menu dialogs. Seems that Microsoft has too much
going on under the surface of Internet Explorer, nefarious or not, it's
cumbersome.
You can also access news.mozilla.com port 119
for free mozilla.
